For 32 years, Bobby has been involved in a broad range of community events, charities and law
enforcement related projects such as Local Grants Coordinator for the Gannett Foundation,
American Association for Lost Children, Boys and Girls Clubs of Walker County, Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo, Lifetime Member of Walker County Fair Association, Newspapers in
Education (NIE), Walker County Master Gardeners Association, Drug Abuse Resistance Education
(D.A.R.E.), Police Activities League (P.A.L.) and National Night Out, just to name a few.
Professional Experience
Bobby Bates has managed and supervised acquisitions of companies, managed real estate
departments, public affairs departments and thousands of company assets across southeast
Texas and Louisiana.
He supported and remains supportive of private property rights and free speech. Bobby
spent 10 years in the mid-80’s through the mid-90’s defending private and personal property
rights, issues involving eminent domain, payment of just compensation, and fighting against
taxation without representation.
Bobby has lobbied City Councils, Zoning Boards, County Commissioners, State Legislators
in Austin and lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
He has employed contractors and negotiated budgets for national corporations with annual
budgets well above $30 million.
